When life feels a little uncertain, I’m compelled to find ways to take control over the clutter that tends to sneak into our home.  Everything runs a little smoother when I feel organized.

Since we’ve been spending a LOT more time at home together, I’ve really started to notice the areas of my home that are organized and the areas that can use some help (I’m looking at you pantry! 🙂

Below are some easy tips to get you started on the path to organizing.  Because sometimes, you just need a quick win to get you motivated to start and keep going!!  (We’ll save the pantry for another day)

Get rid of these items today

19 items you can declutter right now:

  • Old & Expired Medicine
  • Old & Expired Makeup
  • Old & Expired Spices
  • Donate clothing the kids have outgrown
  • We finally put away our winter gear and got rid of Mittens & Gloves missing their mate
  • Replace everyone’s toothbrush
  • Puzzles & games missing pieces
  • Toys that are broken and beyond repair
  • Markers that no longer work
  • Broken hair clips, elastics, & headbands
  • Socks with holes (they make great rags!)
  • Towels with holes (these also make great rags!)
  • Extra Measuring spoons
  • Food Storage Containers that are stained and/or missing the lid (we are slowly switching to glass)
  • Recipe books you haven’t touched in YEARS
  • Recycle old take-away menus (most are online now)
  • Instruction manuals (for items you no longer own)
  • Expired coupons & vouchers
  • Business cards no longer useful
